Erik was late arriving at the station thanks to Anders and once again he had to clean up after the golden son's mess! All his life, he had competed from their father's attention and fell short. Anders returned undamaged from the war while he came back with a scarred face and damaged leg and now he had to tell this Anne Wakefield that his cowardly brother had married his long time girlfriend!

Very sweet historical. A young English woman travels to the Canadian parries to meet her husband to be, their she finds out he has married someone else and left home. She is now forced with the decision should she return to her job as a nurse, as she was in the war when she met Anders (runaway finance). Enter in Erik his older brother who was scarred in the war and cannot walk well and assumes he could never gain her affection the way Anders has, but while she stays on the family farm while deciding what to do their feelings start to grow.
The book is a great quick read. Left a few questions at the end but I would read other books from this author.
I got this in exchange for an honest review, I like this genre of books and I have never read anything for Jana before so this was nice to see her work and I happy that I did because I liked the book I She comes to Canada to get married and only to find out the marriage is not happening and the events from then on start I liked the action and how her life changes with each chapter and character that she encounters I liked the end a lot but felt that there were still missing pieces to this book maybe I will know in the second one
